WHAT IS ADVANCED APPLIED KINESIOLOGY?
This modality is a form of traditional medicine that comes from a lineage of healers.
Advanced Applied Kinesiology is a name that comes from my teacher’s teacher, Hazel. We work with the mechanics of the body and the interconnected systems.
By bringing alignment to our skeletal system we can then support all of our other systems.
With techniques rooted in Body Testing and TFH my teacher Candace Brown added the knowledge of working with organs, and the nervous system to restore proper function.
Candace also works with German New Medicine to find the exact trauma associated with many seemingly impossible to heal diagnosis.
Where does Advanced Applied Kinesiology come from? (History)
In truth this work has a long history we can’t fully understand. What we do know is that the techniques have been bringing healing and relief from pain since the 1940’s when a woman named Frieda brought this work to Canada.
What we know about Frieda is that she was a midwife who could not practise when she arrived because midwifery was illegal. She turned to nursing, as well as practising her true healing work underground. Her skills as a midwife which she learned in Russia and China are what we believe may have informed this work.
She passed her knowledge to at least one student we know of named Hazel who became my teacher’s teacher. Hazel also practised underground as did Candace, and I suppose to some degree I do as well. In the age of the internet I am ready to bring this practise out of the realm of secrecy.
In my own research I have found some similar techniques used by the bone setters of England, and Europe before modern medicine became a global concern. My best guess is that at some point this practise was rooted there.
With each practitioner new knowledge is added, and passed on. We all have different strengths and interests which inspire how we work. Candace added some powerful tools for setting organs and the nervous system, as well as addressing trauma and the Psyche. This final piece is what brings this practise into a space of it’s own.
WHAT ARE TREATMENTS LIKE?
Adjustments are hands on, many techniques are much like active release. Ligaments are realigned. Working with organs in non-invasive, though it can have quite an impact on the nervous system.
Every step of the way we request consent, and feedback so that you are comfortable and in control. Nothing will be done TO you. It is very important that you are an active participant in your healing.
During our time together we will ask a lot of questions, and we’ll go as far into your healing journey as you are ready to go.
WILL IT HURT?
Some adjustments can be painful, but the relief from chronic pain is often times immediate. Many adjustments actually create a sense of relief rather than pain. In our experience one person’s pain, is in fact, another’s sense of relief.
The short answer is that it really depends on how you process pain.
